Cabo Jazz Festival
"The Sound of the World in a Good Mood"
The Cabo Jazz Festival took place on one of the most pristine beaches in Cabo, Sunset Beach. Held right on the beach, under the stars, the inaugural festival received high praise from the Mayor as the festival kicked off with a free concert downtown featuring Gregg Karukas, Joyce Cooling and the great Brenda Russell. Friday night, the celebrities were everywhere on Sunset Beach mingling with the 2000-plus crowd to see the line-up which featured such greats as George Duke, Stanley Clarke and the incomparable Chaka Khan. Saturday, things warmed up with the Latin heat of Nestor Torres, Pete Escovido and finished the night with superstar Albita, as a sea of fireworks exploded over the stage to a standing, applauding audience. After such a high, people woke up Sunday morning to be treated to a Gospel Brunch featuring the Perri Sisters with the beautiful setting of Cabo's famed Arch in the background.
